A Strange Communion

The piece is inspired by Edwin Muir’s poem “The Horses,” which begins by describing the “seven days war that put the world to sleep.” The second part of the poem is an evocative description of the arrival of the “strange horses,” who come to symbolize humanity’s relationship with the world around them and a new ‘beginning’ fusing the old and forgotten with the new and unfamiliar.
